Kind of Tango
An established jazz musician and percussionist with impressive musical credentials goes on a musical voyage of discovery with jazz musicians from his ensemble for his 'Kind of...' series and has now arrived at tango.
The drummer and composer and his 'tried and true' collaborators Lars Danielsson (bass & cello) from Sweden and Christopher Dell (vibraphone) from Darmstadt, but also other musicians like Simon Oslender (piano) and Ulf Wakenius (guitar) have written eight new pieces that are somehow 'a kind of tango'.
They play with the basic elements and let something new emerge - interpreted as jazz pieces whose melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structures leave a lot of room for wonderful improvisational excursions. Jazz can be exciting too!
