Horacio Romo (bandoneon), Pablo Agri (violin) and Emiliano Messiez (piano) each have impressive careers individually and now conjure up a wonderful atmosphere as an exquisite trio: their interpretations of the ten selected pieces (mostly their own compositions and a few classics) are of an extremely high standard, they are quite perfect. Everything we get to hear is unagitated and gets by without too much showmanship.
I think this album by these three virtuoso musicians and composers is exceptionally successful: A musical highlight for a long time that makes me believe again that contemporary tango has more to offer than museum nostalgia of times long past, that tango is music with heart and feeling that still affects us.
