The CD, lovingly designed and handmade by Noelia Tomassi, contains seven mostly traditional tracks of high musical quality - with lyrics that describe what a 'berretín' means in Argentina: the feeling of love, hoped-for and past, of nostalgia, longing, frustration, of illusions, wishes, moods and also of courage to face life.
Pablo Woiz on the piano accompanies all the titles in a differentiated way and with a lot of 'corazón'. Martin Iannaccone complements the milonga Baldosa floja and the Gardel composition Volver with the bombo, which gives both titles their very own folkloristic coloring. In between, the question arises as to whether the songs are danceable. Of course they are. But they make some demands on the dancers. The phrases are mostly slow and it is important to anticipate the meter, which is not constant throughout.

Of editorial interest is the very rarely heard Vals Orquesta de señoritas, which should be easier to dance to. The sad tango La última curda concludes this carefully produced compilation by sympathetic professionals.
