This CD is a collaboration between Margreet Markerink (tango pianist and composer) and Ad Colen (saxophonist).
While Dutch pianist and composer Margreet Markerink's trio 'Tangata' has been somewhat quiet in recent years, her collaboration with saxophonist Ad Colen, also based in the Netherlands, has grown into an energetic and impressive duo.

Listening to the multi-layered conversations of two soloists and virtuosos is a very intimate experience. Ad Colen's tenor saxophone is a magical sound machine, savoring every nuance of a melody with myriad pitches. Warm depths surround the piano's powerful playing like a fine breeze.
Although many arrangements on the CD include large solo parts, interplay and dialogue are maintained in a fascinating way. For those who love passionate music and like to look over the edge of the dance floor, Tales of a blue heart will be an impressive experience well worth listening to.
