Which way into the future can classical tango take in the year 2020? On their second album 'Los Milonguitas' with Pablo Murgier (piano), Simone Tolomeo (bandoneon) and Sebastian Noya (double bass) give a convincing answer.
They do not simply rehash old classics, but develop their own style by playing with musical structures, but without betraying the character of classical tango. For the recordings, the three musicians have assembled a typical orchestra with numerous highly talented guest artists from the lively and experimental tango scene of Paris. The CD was lavishly produced with great attention to detail in three sessions in Paris, Moscow and Buenos Aires, and after 35 minutes it unfortunately comes to an end far too quickly. Rosa y Negro is an album that should not be missing in the collection of any tango lover.
