Julio de Caro
Instrumental 8Tango Collection)
This collection of 23 tangos undoubtedly gathers a lot of tango's greatest hits, Pugliese's composition Recuerdo is among them, Gallo Ciego by Augustín Bardi or Mal de Amores by Pedro Laurenz. This makes them a valuable music-historical treasure to listen to, but few of the recordings are suitable for dancing, Jueves or Maipo simply go more into the legs in D'Arienzo's versions.
Collected are exclusively tangos, no valses or milongas. In later years De Caro also made singers like Edmundo Rivero big, but this collection offers exclusively instrumental pieces, even if now and then, as at the end of Jueves, a line is interpreted by unnamed singers (presumably the instrumentalists themselves).
