Jorge Retamoza
Colores del Otoño
Colores de otoño" is the seventh album by Argentine saxophonist Jorge Retamoza, - tango fused with jazz.
It contains nine original works, almost all composed in recent years, with the exception of "73 La Renga" and a version of "Solo en la multitud" by Eduardo Roviro, a pioneer of tango innovation.
All compositions were arranged by Retamoza himself.
Retamoza relies on the baritone saxophone for almost all of the themes. In the last three songs he takes over the tenor.
The music on this CD is full of intensity and imbued with a Piazzollanian atmosphere, a work in which rhythm and harmony take precedence over melody. It requires careful and unhurried listening.
