The eight musicians of the 'Orquesta El Arranque' have their hands full following the energy of the soloist they have invited for their eighth album.
None other than Víctor Lavallén is the man on the bandoneon, who celebrates his 88th birthday on December 18th and thus also his 75th anniversary on stage. It would go beyond the scope of this article to describe the career and merits of this man who has played with all the legends in seven decades, from D'Arienzo to Pugliese, from Canaro to Balcarce.

My favorite is the piece Magia Porteña. Víctor Lavallén makes his bandoneon sing as if Julian Plaza were sitting next to him and breathing in phrases with him. Why does he succeed so fantastically? Quite simply, he sat next to Plaza in the 'Sexteto Tango' in the 1960s and lived for and from this music. The interpretations on this album are completely authentic and honest, the musical performance is overwhelming. More is not possible.
